Crankshaft pulley, Alternator pulley, Compressor. No idler, the
alternator is your adjustment. We got ours from All Mopar on, you
guessed it, Broadway. We enjoy hunting for parts in junkyards, for me,
it is more fun than shopping at the mall. You should see me hunt for
brake parts.....

The good people of SaddleBrook Village lost the fight against rerouting
the southern end of the Charouleau Gap Trail because of their emotional
outbursts. The 4x4 and OHV community won because they were able to
provide hard facts.

Merry Holidays! I am stuck at work for a few more hours.

15005 From: Len Sullivan <kermit@e...>
Date: Thu Nov 23, 2000 3:39am
Subject: Friday and Sunday runs

Happy Turkey Day to all!

Mike P and I will be making at least one, maybe two runs this weekend. The
first run will be the Coves on Friday, and the second will be Tax Collector
on Sunday (provided that we don't break anything Friday that can't be fixed
Saturday.)

I know that both of these runs have been done a lot lately, but that's
exactly why we chose them. Mike is going to be taking his "new" (to him)
Blazer offroad for the first time Friday, so we wanted a place that would
serve as a beginning performance benchmark for the new rig....which made the
Coves first choice. We're also going to have my brother in law Dave there
in his stock XJ. This is only Dave's second time off the pavement, so
between showing Dave the ropes (no pun intended) and Mike testing the limits
of his new rig there will be lots of "let me try that again" and "maybe if I
tried it this way" and "wonder if I can do that one" happening. This would
be an excellent run for any of the folks lurking in the background with
stock or slightly modified rigs that haven't wanted to jump in on the harder
runs. Newbie's are welcome.........this will be a learning run.

We plan to be at the green gate in Butcher Jones Rec Area around 10am.
We'll be on CB channel 4 for any late arrivals.

Assuming that both trucks are running on Sunday <grin> we'll be doing the
lower part of Tax Collector on Sunday morning. Not sure of the time
yet......stay tuned for more info. This will again be a benchmark run for
the new Blazer, and a test for me to see how much of a difference the 33's
and rear locker really make on the rocks..........the last two times I ran
Tax Collector I had open diffs and 31's. If I'm feeling especially lucky
(or stupid) I may make a try at the upper half of Tax Collector -- don't
count on it, but ya' never know. :-)

Again, any or all are welcome for the Tax Collector run. The wash that
contains Tax Collector varies from a 3.0 to a 4+ depending on what lines you
take and is therefore NOT suitable for stock rigs, but it has been done with
by a mostly stock TJ running 31's. (Keith Auble in the BALR and Domonic
Corradin in the Desert Rat TJ) There is however a bypass for the wash that
is a low class 2 or maybe even a 1.5 -- I've always been able to do the
bypass in 2wd. We'll probably have the same stock XJ with us for this run
(driven by my sister in law this time), so there will be company on the
bypass if anyone doesn't want to go it alone.

If anyone is interested just shoot me a line or meet us at the trailhead.
I'll post the time for Sunday when I know more.

Len
