I have only been in the group for a few weeks. I just got my '02 (had a
2000 that was totaled), and finished putting my gear on it. I posted
some pictures if anyone is interested (Ricks CB & GPS). Once things
settle down and my body quits hurtin' from the wreck, I would like to do
some of the easier runs. I have enjoyed the board and picked up a lot
of good info. Hope to meet some of you in the future.

Oooh, Be careful David, I'd say they would rather be caught Naked in a YJ
than clothed in a TJ!

YJ owners might be a little off, but at least they don't spend a buttload of
money on something they are afraid to scratch! Can you imagine that?!
Nothing personal, I have dog in this fight.
Just thought I'd point out a little twisted thought pattern.
Now, was it mine or yours?

I don't own a TJ, my wife does.
I don't even get windshield time in it because she knows I'll wheel the hell
out of it. She will let me maintain it though.(Ohh how nice of her).
And yes, when it comes to HER Jeep, she's the boss. I think all Jeepers
will agree that's the way it should be.

Is Lower Raw Deal the best you got?
I suppose I could meet you there in my work truck. <BIG ****ty GRIN!!!!>

AbusiveMotorsports members?
One of them just finished running Predator and Upper Terminator with me
today, and upper Ajax on Friday. I hardly think Raw Deal is on the top of
their "Challenging trails" list. I can't speak for them though, there are a
few guys with Mustangs in that crowd. They don't limit themselves to Off
Road Abuse is the best way I could put it.

Joe West has at least put his TJ in harms way, as has Scott Kruize, Doug B.,
and Tim Naylor.
I don't consider any of them super Hard Core, I can respect them though
because I've seen
them on the trail.
Maybe you should 4 wheel with them to see how your "TJ" stacks up.
BTW, For future reference, my group is the Arizona Extreme 4 Wheelers.
We are a small group of like minded 4 wheelers, with pretty well prepared
rigs.
There are 4 CJ's, 1 EB, and a buttload of YJ's.
We even have a new "TJ" guy. I'm sure you know Sharky. He's the Only TJ
owner with balls enough to enter the Rockcrawling event put on by the ARC.
I'm not sure they will take your challenge seriously, much less answer it.
I can only speak for myself, Thanks, but no thanks.
Try the Arizona Axlebreakers, I hear they have a few TJs....

LOL you have to be kidding! How about the lift and tires too??? Dont let the
rig hold you back man fear should take care of that part... Hell if you are
talking about the amount of money involved you are right a better equipped
rig (more $$$) will beat the less equipped (less $$$) but money spent in the
right areas makes a lot of difference. To prove this look at ANY motorsports
the more funded team usually (being a key term) wins easier than the lesser.

Hi all,
So today, I finally got some time and was laying under my 99 TJ pulling the carrier out of the Dana 44 in the rear so that I could install my Detroit locker that I got for Christmas. The guy that is doing the wiring for the lighting around the pool comes into the back yard, looks at my TJ with 33" tires, 4" lift kit, 1"body lift and motor mount lift, K&N air filter, Gibson cat back exhaust and this and that (you know the" it never is finished" story). Any way, he walks right by my pride and joy to the '51cj3a sitting behind it (with the army green paint brushed on it), rubs some bird poop off of the hood and says "cool jeep, man".

Well, at least the TJ has round headlights.

Blah, blah, blah. You're arguing a point of diminishing returns. How
about taking the lift and tires, too? Locking differentials are a part
of this sport, much life cranks on a bicycle. What? Do you think you
can fully participate with open diffs? That it's some sort of Barney
Badass badge of honor? Or do you spend most of your trail time
stacking rocks so your two spinning tires have something to grab?

Or do you spend most of your time manning the keyboard instead of
manning the wheel? Get real, dude.

I won't answer another of your posts in this stupid thread and it's
not possible to bait me. You can talk all you want, and post all the
YJ-bashing crap you want. It all boils down to getting your junk on
the trail. Anytime you're ready to stop talking and start wheeling,
just give a shout.

PS: You could pop for a shiny TJ and can't spare $250 for a Lockright?
Those damn monthly payments gotcha down, huh? LOL.

Subject: [TR] Terminator (Lower) - Sunday, March 31, 2002 - Reminder

Hello All,

Paul Kroger is leading a Terminator (Lower) trail run on Sunday, March 31, 2002.

When: Sunday 9:00 am
Where: The dirt parking lot, Table Mesa Rd
Rating: 4.5-
Length: depends
CB Channel: 4

We'll run as much of Terminator as time allows.

Lower Terminator was the first of the Terminator Trails.

You will find the infamous "White Line" and "Terminator" obstacles on this trail. While both spots certainly have the potential to "Terminate" your vehicle, they will definitely grab your attention.

You will go over, around, straddle and tip on the rocks on this trail; you will find yourself off-camber and wonder why you're doing this, but will love it. It is an awesome trail with numerous play areas and very few bypasses.

Clearance and Lockers are a must, 33" tires a minimum and experienced drivers a must.

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Now, David,
You have turned the tables to driving skill, which I'm sure if we continue
with this, you are going to receive an education.
Most of Upper Ajax, Predator, and Upper Terminator can be run open with a
well prepared vehicle. There are a few obstacles on all of those that do
require lockers, but I assure you I came up to my current status with a
strong foundation in driving skill.
I usually engage the ARB's when my tires slip and I cease forward motion. I
also will engage them before attempting an obstacle that petrifies me, which
I assure you would quite simply make you wet your pants.
Usually, I engage them when I get a little creative with the trail, or
really get in a bind.
The truth is, I wheel mostly for fun and the challenge.
I've met you before, and I've done work for you.
I like you, but that doesn't mean I agree with you though. This entire
diatribe seems to be a little more ego centered than I care for, despite
what you may think, big Jeep (Or built Jeep) does not equal big ego.
Upon Dion's recommendation, I'll extend an invitation to you to run with a
few of us.
If you like, we could do Raw Deal, I'll run it open front and rear if
that's your current setup, let you pick the lines as long as it's
interesting, However, I reserve the right to up the ante, and show you
parts of the trail you probably don't even know exist.
Ross Skinner also has a CJ with ARB's, I bet he's willing to let his 15 year
old boy drive with us. It's only fair that I warn you on the shame of being
spanked by a 15 year old boy.

By the way, Dion doesn't even have a rear locker, and I'm sure you would
launch a spring before he would lose traction.

Hi Scott,
If I were to add up what I have in my rig in it's current configuration, I
could show you a $12,000 bill.
If I were to add up what experience has taught me by building my rig without
the benefit of prior knowledge, I'm afraid I'd have to show you a $25,000
dollar bill, accumulated in time over the past 9 years. (Bought the Jeep in
April 1993)
However, if I were to show you someone I helped build a rig on a budget
based on my past experience capable of running every trail this group runs,
I'd show you a $5,000 bill.
So, What is your point?
Should I feel bad because I sacrifice some cash to my hobby?
Should I feel bad I spent the money for knowledge to benefit me and others?
Hmm, don't they call this progress?
BTW, My wife's TJ without modification will cost her $26,678. She seems to
be as AFRAID to dent it as the rest of the TJ crowd.
Isn't this fun!

Hello All,

Jason LaLiberty lead a trail run Wednesday, March 27, 2002 across Moab

Well, we made it back! We started off a little late thanks to me! I had to work late on Wednesday, so we didn't hit the road until 9:30. Due to some CV driveshaft problems, we ended up arriving at 5:30am in Moab. I crawled under my jeep and pulled my rear driveshaft. We were about 100 miles from Moab when I had to take it out. 3am! $75 and about 2 hours I was ready to wheel that morning by 11:30am. I will be calling Dick's on Monday. Apparently they had to replace the top half of the joint (sorry I don't know the exact tech. name of the black end of the shaft) ve of the drive shaft. Well we met up with marley28 from JU and headed for Hell's Revenge. Awsome trail. We took about 6 hours to run it. Stopping to debate about who was going up Lion's Back and who wasn't. Mike and I decided we would do it on Friday. After that Mike, Zack(Mike's Friend) and I headed back to camp for dinner. Holy Shi* was it cold that night. I ended up hopping in the jeep at about 4am and starting the heat blowin'! Next day we planned on heading to Golden Crack. Unfortunately some of the guys running with us had some minor trail damage the day before, so we waited for repairs. The day claimed two more injuries. Mike broke a brake-line. With a hammer and pliers. Made a quick repair. Marley28 was the first to try and cross the crack. He ended up bending his drag link. I def. am going to do two things next time. 1. Hotel room with heat! 2. Stay for at least 4 days of wheeling!

Great place!
